AB and Elldub at the dolphin pool, southern Laos 16th Feb 2008.

Distribution of Mekong Dolphins. Though i think the KR helped rid the Tonle Sap of these guys a while back - something about extracting oil.

The Irrawaddy dolphin is a small dolphin. They are slow, leisurely swimmers, with blunt, bulbous foreheads and are dark grey in colouration. The dorsal fin is small and rounded in shape. Length recorded is 2.75 m. Life expectancy is 26 years.

Irrawaddy dolphins munch down on a wide range of crustaceans (prawns and isopods), cephalopods (squid, cuttlefish and octopus) and bony fish.
These guys spit water. The reason for this behaviour is unknown, however, it always occurs while the dolphins are feeding and may be a method to herd fish.
